The Archives Book Shop, our sister shop here in East Lansing, has reopened!  The shop has been reorganized and redesigned but still contains the distinctive fine books and antique postcards that made it famous, and the big addition is the new coffee shop right next door!

Meanwhile, here at Curious, we run a special sale every month, so check our storefront, where our sales are posted.  We've been processing lots of new inventory and have been doing some reorganizing of our own.

We've recently gotten in many books on architecture, travel, romance, and historical fiction.  We've also begun offering some of our more unusual items through our eBay Store.  Note that these are mostly not auctions but simply another way for us to make interesting items available.  We simply haven't got room in the store to display more than a fraction of our inventory!

Speaking of which, we've recently updated our Original Artwork page!  We've added some very rare and collectible paintings that were the basis for book covers.

We have new winter hours!  We're currently open 12-5 on Sunday and 10-7 every other day of the week.  As always, feel free to email us with any questions.

There was recently a nice article about us in the LSJ!

Curious News:

We are proud to now offer a wide selection of original paperback artwork from the 1950s through 1970s.  Many of these paintings originally appeared on paperbacks published by Ace Books.  We'll soon be adding more paintings on a regular basis.

We've received some new pulps, traded some away, sold some, and repriced many others, so we're currently redoing our inventory of pulp magazines, and our inventory pages may be temporarily inaccurate.  Please call or email us with any questions about pricing or availability, and thanks for bearing with us while we update our information.

We have a new page for books and other items by L. Frank Baum or related to Oz. Many of the prices have been recently been reduced, often by 40% or more!

We've dramatically dropped the prices on most of our Dime Mystery pulp magazines! We've also added about a dozen Startling Stories to our SF Pulps listings.

You can see some photos from Archives Book Shop's book signings, taken during Michigan Week (May 21-27, 2005).

Anyone who appreciates antiquarian books might enjoy viewing this website of antiquarian book trade labels.  Fans of vintage paperbacks might be interested in bookscans.com, a gallery of cover images and information.

As we continue to add more book inventory in-store, we continue to add inventory online through ABE and Amazon.com.  View our current ebay auctions for other magazines, programs, and books.

New Finds & Latest Additions:

New in stock:  A large amount of new inventory has come in recently, including SF, Mystery, Children's, and general fiction.

We process and shelve more fiction, science fiction, and mystery every week -- often two or three times a week!  We also have a large selection of vintage magazines available -- Life, Time, The Saturday Evening Post, Colliers, The New Yorker, and many more.  We add new issues at least once a month.
